Tourrettes sur Loup  is an ancient 'village perche', dramatically poised on a rock cliff over the gorge of the Loup, overlooking the Riviera coastline, 6 km west of Vence, and 20 minutes from Nice Airport.

The village is very authentic and friendly, with local shops, cafes and restaurants, and is never overrun by tourists. Being up in the hills, in the summer months the climate is perfect, not too hot or humid, and well away from the coastal traffic.

The old part of the village is home to many artists and craft workers and there is a market every Wednesday. Every evening there are boules matches going in the square for free entertainment while you enjoy an aperitif.

Local attractions include

The old city of Vence with the Matisse Chapel (5km),

St Paul-de-Vence  with the world-famous Fondation Maeght (5 km walk through the forest of Sine)

and of course the Riviera, Antibes, Cannes etc are all within a short drive.

There are great music festivals in July and August: Jazz at Juan les Pins, Nice Jazz Festival and Nuits du Sud in Vence - Latin & World Music. If you are active there are tennis courts in the village, wonderful walks in the surrounding hills and gorges, horse riding, canyoning, cycling trails.... or you may prefer to exercise by just rambling to the boulangerie to pick up the morning croissants.
